Need Wireless Broadband...

Do you have a high speed broadband internet connection? Are you tired of switching wires and unplugging the cable or ADSL modem to get another computer online, only to have to do it again to connect your other computer.

The answer to these questions is a ROUTER. With a router you can connect all the computers in your home to use one high speed broadband internet connection with no extra monthly fees from your provider.

As you can see from the picture, the router connects to your cable or DSL modem, then your computers connect to the router. The router receives information that your ISP (internet service provider) would give your computer, then the router handles all the traffic after that.

All routers have A firewall incorporated in to them. Any hacker that tries to get access to your computer gets stopped at the router. This is because the router does not allow anyone or any program to see beyond it.

One of the biggest talked about router today is the fact that there are now wireless routers. With wireless your computer can have the same high speed broadband connection, but with out any wires. This is great for laptops, which already have the capability for traveling.

What Routers are good for:

  • Multiple connections
  • Security
  • File and Print sharing
  • Wireless connections

Let us install and you can choose to have a wireless, wired, or both. Plus we will setup file and print sharing, and encrypt the wireless connection so hackers cannot penetrate your small home network.

Spyware Problem?

Q: What is Spyware?

A: Spyware is any program that gets installed with or with out your knowledge. It can cause unwanted results, such as Pop-up ads, internet slow down, and computer crashing. Spyware monitors your system and what programs you have installed, the websites you visit, or what you print, then the programs transmit this information to their servers, so targeted ads can be brought to you.

Q: Why does Spyware Return?

A: Spyware gets back on your system because you have done nothing to prevent it. Some measures to take: Use a firewall, antivirus, avoid trashy sites, do not install programs that might install Spyware with them (i.e. freeware programs, or P2P file sharing), and most important make sure you have all the latest Microsoft updates and of course Spyware detection and removal software installed.

Q: I think my computer is infected has been infested by Spyware or my home page has been hijacked. What should I do?

Note: hijacked refers to having your home page changed without your requesting it and usually not being able to change it back.

A: Read our Tutorial  or let us remove all that Spyware for you we will make sure you have all the latest Microsoft updates and even install detection and removal programs for your future protection.

Virus Problem?

Q : What is A virus?

A : A computer virus is a self-replicating computer program written to alter the way a computer operates, without the permission or knowledge of the user. Though the term is commonly used to refer to a range of malware, a true virus must replicate itself, and must execute itself. The later criteria is often met by a virus which replaces existing executable files with a virus-infected copy. While viruses can be intentionally destructive—destroying data, for example—some viruses are benign or merely annoying

A computer virus behaves in a way similar to a biological virus, which spreads by inserting itself into living cells. Extending the analogy, the insertion of a virus into the program is termed as an "infection", and the infected file, or executable code that is not part of a file, is called a "host".

A computer virus will pass from one computer to another like a real life biological virus passes from person to person. For example, it is estimated by experts that the Mydoom worm infected a quarter-million computers in a single day in January of 2004. In March of 1999, the Melissa virus spread so rapidly that it forced Microsoft and a number of other very large companies to completely turn off their e-mail systems until the virus could be dealt with. Another example is the ILOVEYOU virus, which occurred in 2000 and had a similarly disastrous effect.

Let us safely remove any possible virus infection you have we will make sure you have all the latest Microsoft updates and even install detection and removal programs for your future protection.
